Offshore U.S. Dollar Bond Fund Class B Units
The
Schroder Offshore U.S. Dollar Bond Fund Class B Units is a
Bermuda domiciled, actively managed portfolio of U.S. dollar
denominated, investment grade, fixed income securities. The
fund is primarily designed for institutional investors in
the offshore market. In particular, the fund is tailored for
insurance clients whose investment portfolios are of insufficient
size to receive the benefits of a diversified portfolio of
directly invested bonds. The investment policy and benchmark
were selected because in our experience they represent popular
choices with insurance companies. The fund offers a low total
expense ratio which provides investors maximum opportunity
for return in a competitive market.
Schroders
Investment Policy
The
primary objective of the Fund is to provide investors with
a cost effective opportunity to achieve a high total return
by investing in an actively managed portfolio of U.S. dollar
denominated high-quality, fixed income securities using a
low risk, diversified approach. It is not the Fund's intention
to risk preservation of capital by compromising credit quality.
Investments
will be weighted towards the area of the yield curve considered
to offer the greatest opportunity to enhance return but, in
any event, the maximum maturity (as defined by weighted average
life) of any one security will not exceed 30 years from the
date of purchase, and at all times the portfolio's interest
rate risk, as measured by effective duration, will not vary
from the duration of the Lehman Brothers Intermediate Government/Credit
Index by more than one-half of one year.
The
Schroders Fund will only invest in securities of which the
income is paid without deduction of witholding tax. The Fund
may also hold assets in the form of cash on call, time deposits,
or money market instruments when this is considered appropriate
in the light of prevailing market conditions. Other categories
of fixed income investment may from time to time be used with
the consent of the Trustee.
It
is the Manager's intention that the net income of the B Class
Fund should be reinvested in additional units of the B Class
Fund or distributed to unit holders on a six-monthly basis,
at the option of the holder.
