The
Norton Rose investment funds team has advised on transactions
for many of the leading hedge and investment fund managers,
financial institutions and banks.
Norton
Rose has a long established reputation for providing advice
in the UK retail fund market and acts for a large number of
UK investment trusts and venture capital trusts on launches,
new issues, reorganisations and innovative reconstructions.
They acted on the launch of the first post-N2 UK open-ended
investment company.
Norton
Rose are routinely involved with offshore funds established
in a variety of jurisdictions (including Guernsey, Jersey,
Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands and Ireland). Their expertise
encompasses launches and reconstructions of SICAVs, SICAFs,
umbrella funds and other offshore investment vehicles.

products, such as capital protected and guaranteed funds which
involve a cross-over of expertise with their capital markets
and derivatives groups.
Norton
Rose advise on hedge-fund launches, including funds of hedge
funds (both listed and unlisted) and wrapper-products for
accessing target markets. They advise funds on their use of
derivatives to hedge risks and have been increasingly involved
in designing bespoke and innovative derivatives-based solutions
to maximise the use of cash flow within the fund. Their derivatives
team advise on a wide range of trades including OTC and credit
support documentation.
Their
clients include multi-manager providers and funds of funds,
both in the UK and internationally (including Italy, France
and the Czech Republic).
Their
experience includes work on private equity funds targeting
private and institutional investors and on the distribution
structure for such funds. Norton Rose have also acted for
major banks and pension funds on investments made into limited
partnership vehicles.
The
Investments Funds Team is actively involved property investment
funds, including offshore investment company and unit trust
structures (for income look through), and UK limited partnerships.
